Polish archeological and conservatory missions

The vacations are coming and along with them next Polish archeological and conservatory missions that cover excavations in Chhim and Jiye and renovation of wall paintings in Maad and Kaftun churches.
On November 1, 2009 representatives of the Polish Embassy in Beirut, Consul - Sławomir Krajczyński and Defense Attache - col Robert Papisz deposed a wreath on the military cemetery where are buried Polish soldiers.
The Government Information Centre announces that commemorations of the 70th anniversary of outburst of World War II will take place on 1 September 2009 in Gdańsk.
On April 9, 2009 Polish Minister of National Defence Bogdan Klich paid an official visit to Lebanon. During his stay he visited soldiers of the Polish Military Contingent (PMC) operating under UNIFIL.
Between June 3 and 7, 2008 Beirut hosted the biggest trade exhibition "Project Lebanon 2008" which was organized under the patronage of the Prime Minister Fuad Siniora. It is estimated that 230 companies from 12 countries participated in the exhibition and it was visited by 20 thousand people.
On May 30 2008 the Polish Embassy in Beirut hosted an event to celebrate the ending of the school year for children attending the School of Culture and the Polish Language (Szkoła Kultury i Języka Polskiego) in Beirut.
Between 28 and 30 May, Lebanon hosted an official Polish delegation representing the Ministry of Defense and the National Security Bureau. The role of the head of the delegation was committed to Minister Wladyslaw Stasiak, chief of the National Security Bureau.
The transaction dealing with the delivery of prefabricated houses for the Lebanese Armed Forces has been finalized. More information is available in the article's continuation.
It
has become a good tradition that every year in August and September we
welcome in Lebanon a Polish archeological mission of the University of
Warsaw, headed by Dr Tomasz Waliszewski. Our archeologists, who in recent
years, in co-operation with the Lebanese General Direction of Antiquities
made a number of valuable discoveries in the village of Chhîm this season,
have started new promising projects.
