The Polish Embassy in Beirut organized a memorial celebration on the 8th of May, 2005 for the 60th anniversary of the end of World War II.

After a mass at the Polish Cemetery in Beirut, the Ambasador Mr. Waldemar Markiewicz attributed the "Pro Memoria" medal to the following, distinguished members of the Polish Community in Lebanon:
