Due to the preparations to the 200th anniversary of Frederic Chopin's birthday in 2010, the commissioner of the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage dealing with the Year of Chopin, Waldemar Dąbrowski, issued a request to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to closely cooperate with diplomatic missions abroad in order to associate the promotion of Poland in the upcoming years with Frederic Chopin. Soon the Polish Parliament will announce the year 2010 as the Year of Chopin and an Honorary Committee of the Chopin Year, whose method of operation and organization are being worked on, will be created.
